Day 3. Wed 17 July 2019 The plan for today was to visit Bayeux We were looking for a new hall stairs and landing carpet, so Bayeux was as good a place to start as anywhere. But when we got there, we only found old stock. No use to us whatsoever! Seriously though, the intention was to have a look at the Bayeux tapestry today. We found a camping car aire, - a free place to leave your campervan. Reserved for campers. All over the place in France right now. It makes it easy, but rumour has it that you run the risk of having the bikes stolen off the back of your van, or having your van burgled while you are away from it. But we took the chance, as we had no bikes with us, and very little of value inside. We bought a combined ticket for the war museum nearby, and for the tapestry display for 12 Euros each. The museum was easily worth the 3 Euros extra, above the 9 Euros we would have to pay for seeing the tapestry. A short walk into town and a s...
